President Jokowi Asks Me to Assist Him in Defense Sector, Prabowo Says

Former Presidential Candidate who is also the Chairperson of Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, along with Deputy Chairman of the Party, Edhy Prabowo, met with President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday (21/10).

After the meeting, Prabowo explained that the President has asked him and Edhy Prabowo to support the upcoming Cabinet. “I have conveyed the decision of Gerindra Party that we are ready to support (the Cabinet). Today the official request has been made and we are ready,” Prabowo told reporters.

Regarding the position offered to him, Prabowo said that he was asked to assist in the defense sector. “(The President) has conveyed his direction, and I will work as hard as I can to achieve the goals and meet the expectations,” Prabowo said, adding that Edhy Prabowo will do the same.

Prabowo further said that the President himself will announce the new Cabinet members. Regarding the numbers of cabinet slot provided for Gerindra Party, Prabowo did not give the exact number, adding that the President has invited two people from Gerindra (to meet the President) . (HIM/JAY/ES)
