President Jokowi Asks Police to Solve Novel Baswedan Case

President Joko “Jokowi “Widodo on Monday (9/12) summoned Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Idham Azis related to the development of the acid attack case of Novel Baswedan, an investigator at the anti-graft body Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“I have asked directly to the National Police Chief. I want to get the assurance about the progress (of the case),” President Jokowi told reporters after attending the opening of the National Coordination Meeting for the Teams of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration and the National Forum for Micro Waqf Bank, at the Grand Ball Room Hotel Mulia, Jakarta, Tuesday (10/12).

The President added that the National Police Chief has told him that there are new findings that have led to conclusions.

For the record, Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Headquarters, Police Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal has said that the Police have had significant clues on the case and are very optimistic to resolve the case as soon as possible.

When the journalist asked about the exact time, Iqbal said that the result of investigation will be unveiled soon.
