President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Saturday (17/11) arrived in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, to attend the 26th APEC Leaders’ Meeting.

The President’s first agenda was a bilateral talk with Solomon Islands Prime Minister Rick Nelson Houenipwela, followed by several other events at APEC Haus, including a joint photo session, the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) presentation to leaders of APEC member countries, a breakout session in which the leaders engaged in discussions held in several different rooms, as well as a dialog between the APEC Leaders and the leaders of the Pacific Islands countries.

The President conducted a bilateral talk with Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea Peter O’Neill in the afternoon, followed by a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The last agenda on the first day was a dinner and cultural performance for the APEC Leaders.

On Sunday (18/11), President Jokowi attended other three agendas in the series of the 2018 APEC Summit, including a joint photo session with the APEC leaders, followed by “Leaders Retreat” with the theme “Connecting for Inclusive Growth through Digital Future”. The next agenda was a lunch with the APEC leaders, during which the leaders discussed “The 2018 APEC Leader’s Declaration-Era Kone Declaration”.

In the meantime, First Lady of the Republic of Indonesia Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo attended “the spouse program”. Together with the wives of the APEC leaders, Ibu Iriana visited several places, including the National Museum & Art Gallery and APEC Garden. (BPMI/EN)
