President Jokowi Attends Communal Fast-breaking with Reporters

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Tuesday (14/5) attended a communal fast-breaking with journalists working at the Presidential Palace, at D’Cost VIP Restaurant in Abdul Muis, Central Jakarta.

President Jokowi expressed his happiness in joining the event. “We perform our duties very seriously when we’re at the Palace,” the President said adding that he was grateful for journalists’ hard work in reporting presidential activities and other important agendas.

“I thank all of you for your support, be it in form of good news, and constructive critical news. Also, all news concerning the palace, ministers, me, or policies that the Government made that allow the public to know the updates,” the President added.

President Jokowi arrived at the restaurant at 5.10 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. His arrival was awaited by all media crew who served in the Presidential Palace.

Assalamu’alaikum,” President Jokowi said as he entered the restaurant and shook hands with the journalists.

The first session was followed by a casual conversation between the journalists and the President. This dialog went warmly and full of laughter.

On this occasion, the media crew shared their experiences in reporting the President’s activities, including the good and bad times. In addition, President Jokowi also performed maghrib prayer in congregation with the journalists.

The event continued with photo session between the President and the journalists.

Also accompanied the President in the event were, among others, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, and Presidential Special Staff Johan Budi. (BPMI Setpres/ES)
