President Jokowi Attends Golkar Party Anniversary Ceremony
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Friday (10/21) attended the ceremony of the 58th Anniversary of the Golkar Party at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran, Jakarta.
“First of all, I would like to wish the big family of the Golkar Party a happy 58th anniversary,” the President said.
According to the President, Golkar is a political party with a long history in Indonesian politics. The President said that the Golkar Party will be prudent in determining the Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates for the upcoming 2024 elections.
The President underscored the importance of electing a highly-experienced leader amid the turbulent global situation. The President added that the situation is predicted to be tougher in 2023.
The President further said that currently 14 countries are under the IMF supervision and 28 more countries are on the waiting list. It is estimated that the number will reach 66 (countries) so that the nation should elect a highly-experienced leader in the future.
“Once again, in the development of a country, political stability is very important. We need security and stability, especially in a very tough situation that is very difficult to calculate and predict,” the President remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (RI/MMB)
