President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (01/24) attended handover ceremony of C-130J Super Hercules aircraft from Ministry of Defense to the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU), at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta.

“We ordered Super Hercules C-130J aircraft several years ago and this aircraft is very important for military and non-military operations,” the President told the journalists after the handover ceremony.

The President said that the transport aircraft could carry 120 personnel and 20 tons of goods.

“Indonesia is an archipelagic country with a lot of airports with short runways, and the Super Hercules aircraft is compatible with those airports. Moreover, the aircraft can fly for 11 hours non-stop,” the President said.

On that occasion, the President also witnessed the handover of the AS-550 Fennec helicopter and the AS-565 Panther helicopter. (BPMI SETPRES/AIT) (RI/MMB)
