President Jokowi Attends the 71st Anniversary of TNI AU

Upon his arrival after a working visit to Central Java Province, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo directly headed to South Terminal of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta, Sunday (9/4) to attend the commemoration of the 71st Anniversary of Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU). The President and First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo took picture with 152 pilots of fighter aircrafts.

On that occasion, President Jokowi also embarked several fighters parked at the airbase.One of them is Sukhoi, a fighter plane of TNI AU.From the cockpit of Sukhoi 27/30 Flanker, the President congratulated the TNI AU on its anniversary. He also appreciated them for their role in safeguarding Indonesia’s air space.“Happy 71st Anniversary TNI AU. Thank you for guarding the sovereignty and unity of Indonesian air space,” the President said as quoted by the Head of Press, Media, and Information Bureau of Secretariat of the President Bey Machmudin.

The President also asked the ranks of TNI AU to be professional soldiers whom loved by the people.“Always be a professional soldier, loved by the people,” the President said.

Before leaving Halim Perdanakusuma, the President as well as Ibu Iriana shook hands with a number of fighter pilots who were singing their cadences.

On that occasion, the President and Ibu Iriana was also accompanied by Air Force Chief of Staff Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.
