President Jokowi Attends Wake of Supreme Court Chief’s Son

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Friday (21/6), made a visit of condolence to the residence of Supreme Court Chief Justice Hatta Ali in Widya Chandra Housing Complex, Jakarta to convey his condolences on the passing of Mohamad Irfan, the son of Hatta Ali.

President Jokowi, who was accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, arrived at Hatta’s residence at around 09.30 Western Indonesian Time (WIB). Upon his arrival, the President was immediately welcomed by Hatta Ali and the family.

Several prominent figures also attended the wake, including the 11th Vice President Boediono.

The President left Hatta’s residence after he extended his condolences.

Mohamad Irfan passed away in a single-vehicle accident during a motorcycle tour group in Namibia, South Africa on Wednesday (19/6). He was born on November 12, 1978 in Makassar as the youngest son in Hatta Ali’s family.

Irfan’s deceased body will be arrived in Indonesia on Friday (21/6) afternoon and will be buried in Karet Bivak Public Cemetery. (BPMI Presidential Decree/ES)
