President Jokowi Attends Zayed Humanitarian Day in Surakarta

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday (04/10) night, attended the Zayed Humanitarian Day in Swis-bel Hotel, Surakarta city, Central Java.

In his remarks, President Jokowi stated that humanity and solidarity are big assets for the world to face various challenges.

“Humanity and solidarity are big assets for the world to face even complex challenges. This noble initiative also emphasized the Islamic principles of rahmatan lil ‘alamin (mercy to all creations), creating prosperity and peace, manifesting compassion for nature, and all human beings,” said the President.

Zayed Humanitarian Day is a commemoration held on the 19th of Ramadan every year, which coincides with the passing of the Founding Father of the United Arab Emirates/UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. According to President Jokowi, Sheikh Zayed is a great leader who always fights for humanity values.

“Sheikh Zayed is a great leader who fougth ceaselessly for humanity values and solidarity,” he added.

At the commemoration moment, President Jokowi also invited all parties to emulate Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s humanitarian works.

“Hopefully the values of humanity and solidarity will be strengthened in all of us. Happy commemorating Zayed Humanitarian Day,” he remarked.

Attending the commemoration were UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohammed Al Mazroei, Ambassador of UAE to Indonesia Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Member of President’s Advisory Board Habib Muhammad Lutfi bin Yahya, Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo, and Mayor of Surakarta city Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
