President Jokowi Begins Labuan Bajo Working Visit

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Sunday (19/1) began his working visit in the eastern province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

President Jokowi and his entourage departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base on the Indonesian-1 Presidential Aircraft Jakarta at 09.00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) and arrived at Komodo Airport, West Manggarai Regency at around 11.50 Central Indonesia Time (WITA).

According to Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, President Jokowi and First Lady Ibu Iriana will carry out a series of working agendas until Tuesday (21/1).

“President Jokowi is scheduled to inspect the construction project of Labuan Bajo Pier’s multipurpose terminal and Puncak Waringin area. In addition, the President is also slated to inaugurate tourism support facilities, including a state-owned hotel,” Heru said.

Heru went on to say that the President is also scheduled to review tourism supporting infrastructure in Labuan Bajo. “As we know, Labuan Bajo is one of  top five priority tourism destinations this year,” Heru said.

Previously, the President in July 2019 inspected infrastructure in Labuan Bajo. On several occasions, the President underlined that he will always directly monitor the development of infrastructure. (BPMI / EN)
