President Jokowi Begins Working Visit in Dubai

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (04/11) is slated to visit Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to continue his series of international working visits.

The Head of State and his entourage will leave for Dubai by land at around 10:20 local time from the hotel where they stayed overnight in the capital city of Abu Dhabi.

The announcement was made by Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi Wednesday (03/11/2021) in her statement in Abu Dhabi.

Upon the arrival in Dubai, according to Retno, President Jokowi will visit the Dubai Exhibition Center to hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

In the meeting, the President will also witness the exchange of partnership agreements, both business to business (B2B) and government to government (G2G), she added.

“In the field of the G2G partnership, there will be ten agreements, including investment promotion, taxation, cooperation between central banks, mutual recognition of vaccines and digital platforms to facilitate mobility, tourism, education and training for ship crews, education and training for diplomats, and mangrove forest management,” Retno added.

Retno also said that after the meeting President Jokowi is slated to attend a business forum with entrepreneurs and investors from the UAE led by Minister of Investment / Head of the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia.

Before heading back to Indonesia, President Jokowi will visit the Indonesian Pavilion at the Dubai Expo.
