President Jokowi Calls for Acceleration in Disbursement of COVID-19 Health Services
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has ordered that budget allocated for COVID-19 health services to be disbursed immediately.
“For example, compensation for the deceased should be given immediately after the death of a patient. Procedures at the Ministry of Health must be simplified,” President Jokowi said in his introductory remarks at Limited Meeting on the Acceleration in Handling the Impacts of COVID-19 Pandemic at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (29/6).
The President once again called for simplification of complicated regulations. He also emphasized that payment for the hospitals, as well as incentives for medical and laboratory workers must be disbursed as soon as possible since there is budget allocated for it.
President Jokowi also reminded all about the importance of an integrated COVID-19 control to make the Government’s works more effective.
“We should eliminate sectoral ego, ego among ministries, institutions, regional governments, and so on,” he firmly said.
According to the President, support from the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in making sure that the public strictly follow health protocols in public areas must be maintained.
On that occasion, President Jokowi also instructed to prepare a breakthrough that can significantly contribute to public obedience in following the health protocols. (FID/EN)
