For the ninth time, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo led a Limited Cabinet Meeting on the Progress of the preparation of the 2018 Asian Games, which will be held in four months.

“This is the ninth Limited Cabinet Meeting on Asian Games. We want to make sure that in the remaining time left, our preparation is sufficient,” the President said in his introductory remarks during the meeting, which was held at Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Wednesday (18/4).

On that occasion, the President also asked for detailed reports on infrastructure preparation, both venue and non-venue, as well as technical preparation starting from the opening ceremony, match events, the closing ceremony as well as the readiness of Indonesian athletes who will compete in the Games.

President Jokowi also highlighted the campaign for the Asian Games in media, both local and international, which he considers that there is no significant development.

“I want that we pay a serious attention to this. In such a limited time, there should be national and international media that promote the Asian Games every two week regularly,” the President concluded.

Also attending the Limited Cabinet Meeting were Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Minister of Transportation Budi K Sumadi, Ministry of State-owned Enterprises Rini Sumarno, Minister of Tourism Arif Yahya, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucracy Reforms Asman Abnur, Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial/Head of the National Land Agency Sofyan Djalil, Attorney General M Prasetyo, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Force (TNI) Hadi Tjahjanto, Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Tito Karnavian, Head of Development Finance Comptroller Ardan Adipradana, Governor of South Sumatra Alex Nurdin, Vice Governor of Special Capital Region of Jakarta Sandiaga Uno, and Head of the Indonesian Asian Games 2018 Organizing Committee Erick Tohir.
