President Jokowi Calls on President, VP-Elect to Work Immediately after Inauguration

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (04/24) called on president-elect Prabowo Subianto and vice president-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka to be prepared to start working immediately after their inauguration.

“The process is almost complete, including [the process] at the Constitutional Court (MK). We must respect the MK’s decision as a final and binding verdict. Today, the KPU (General Elections Commission) announced the result of the 2024 Presidential Election, meaning that the president-elect and vice president-elect must be ready with their plans so they will start work immediately after the inauguration,” President Jokowi said in response to the KPU’s announcement about the final result of the 2024 Presidential Election.

On that occasion, the President emphasized that the current Cabinet will not form a transition team to prepare for the change of the Government while underscoring that the current Cabinet will only assist in ensuring a smooth and successful government transition.

For the record, the KPU announced Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, candidate number 2 for president and vice president, as the president-elect and vice president-elect for 2024-2029 period. (KS/UN) (AP/MMB)
