President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (02/02) called on regional governments to control inflation including staple food price.

“All [sides] including provincial, regional, municipal governments, must go hand in hand to control our national inflation,” President Jokowi said after inspecting the Jembrana Weaving Center in Jembrana regency, Bali province.

Prior to his visit to the weaving center, the President inspected Melaya Market to monitor the price of staple food including cooking oil and rice that affects inflation.

On that occasion, President Jokowi said that cooking oil price is still under control at Rp14,000-15,000 per liter, while rice price has slightly increased.

“This is what affected the inflation last January. One of which was rice price. That’s why I have to check and recheck,” he remarked. (RF/UN) (AP/MMB)
