President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has urged the public to practice social distancing by staying at home, while remain calm, vigilant and not to panic to slow down and stop the spread of covid-19.

“Following the current situation, it is time to work from home, pray at home, and study at home,” President Jokowi said in a press statement at the Bogor Palace, West Java province, Sunday (15/3).

On that occasion, the President underlined that this is also the time to unite and support each other.

“The Government needs public support and mass movement to tackle this issue,” he said, adding that the Government has prepared various anticipative measures to handle the current situation while assuring that the Cabinet will continue to work hard.

“The Ministers even work harder than ever in the office or remotely to address the impacts of this pandemic, both in health and economic aspects,” President Jokowi explained.

As of Sunday (15/3), the country has announced 117 confirmed Covid-19 cases, five of whom did not survive. (TGH/EN)
