President Jokowi: Children’s Protection Shapes Nation’s Future

Protection and opportunity for children are critical for the future of the Indonesian nation, according to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.

“Protection and opportunity to enable children to grow are at stake for the future of the nation,” the President wrote on his personal Twitter account @jokowi, Sunday (07/23).

Broad opportunities for children to grow, the President added, will produce the nation’s best generation.

“The nation’s best generation is always born from an era that provides a broad opportunity for each child to grow freely, intelligently, and cheerfully,” he said.

Echoing a similar sentiment, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung expressed belief that the progress of a nation is determined by the children’s development stage.

“Let us improve the protection of our children and provide the widest possible opportunity for them to become leaders of the future,” Pramono said in a statement to celebrate the National Children’s Day which falls on July 23, 2023.

Pramono also expressed confidence that 2045 will be Indonesia’s golden year led by children who are currently poised to become the nation’s leaders.

“Happy Children’s Day. In particular, I would like to send a message to our children. Dream as high as the sky and achieve those dream. The future is on your shoulders,” he said. (MAY/UN) (FI/EP)
