President Jokowi Commends State Institutions’ Cooperation towards Advanced Indonesia Vision

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo commended the role and support of state institutions in realizing the grand vision of an Advanced Indonesia during the 2024 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) of the Republic of Indonesia and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the House of Regional Representatives (DPD) of the Republic of Indonesia, at the Nusantara Building, MPR/DPR/DPD RI, Jakarta, Friday (08/16).
“I highly appreciate and commend the support and cooperation of all state institutions in propping up Indonesia’s progress, starting from the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) that has actively played its role in solidifying national ideology, reinforcing the plan to formulate Principles of State Policies, and maintaining harmony among national figures,” stated the President.
The President also acknowledged the legislative function carried out by the DPR RI in fulfilling its roles of budgeting and monitoring, formulating the 2025 State Budget Bill for transition and succession of the Government, and finalizing a big number of strategic laws, such as Law on State Capital, Law on Special Region of Jakarta, Law on Electronic Information and Transactions, Law on State Civil Apparatus, and Law on Maternal and Child Welfare.
“The DPD RI continues to oversee self-sufficiency of autonomous regions, initiate bills, monitor the implementation of laws and regional regulations, and give special attention to agriculture and food sectors,” he added.
Likewise, the President highlighted the role of the Audit Board (BPK RI) in monitoring the use of State Budget. He emphasized that in addition to performing this function, the BPK has reinforced Indonesia’s trust and leadership on the global stage.
The Head of State also commended the resolution of legal disputes through mediation (restorative justice) conducted by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia, while noting that resolving conflicts through such means is preferable to criminal prosecution.
“Judicial Commission (KY) of the Republic of Indonesia has actively played its role to produce honest and respectable Judges to maintain trust and fulfill the demand of our people of our judiciary institutions in our nation,” concluded President Jokowi. (KS/MAY/TGH/FID/DNS) (AY/EP)
