President Jokowi Conducts Test Run of Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo conducted a working visit to the West Java province, on Wednesday (08/13). In this visit, the Head of State used the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train as well as conducted trials before its operation.

Upon arrival at 08.30 Western Indonesian Time (WIB) in Halim Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway (KCJB) Station, East Jakarta, President Jokowi headed directly to the second floor to tap in his transportation card at the entrance gate, then continued to the platform at the third floor. President sat on the first car with trip number G5901 from Halim Station to Tegalluar Station.

The train carrying the President and his entourage departed at 08.57 WIB. The first high speed train in Indonesia gradually increased its speed from 50 km per hour to a maximum speed of 350 km per hour.

After traveling for 30 minutes, the President and his entourage arrived at Padalarang Station, West Bandung regency, West Java province, at 09.27 WIB. The President got off from the train and continued his trip to Bandung Station, Bandung city, West Java province, by using the feeder train.

Upon arrival at Bandung Station, the President and his entourage continued their trip to Bandung city by car, to conduct other working visit activities.

Also accompanying the President in this working visit were Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning / Head of the National Land Agency Hadi Tjahjanto, Minister of State-Owned Enterprise Erick Thohir, and Interim Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin. There were also a number of Indonesian artists and influencers who participated in the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train trial. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RKW/RAS)
