President Jokowi Conveys Condolences over the Death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi

On a press statement at Agam regency, West Sumatera province, on Tuesday (21/05), President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo conveyed his condolences over the death of President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, in a shocking helicopter crash in northwestern region of Iran, on Sunday (19/05). Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir-Abdollahian and other delegates were also on the same helicopter.

“First of all, the Government and people of Indonesia would like to convey deep condolences over the death of President Raisi, in a shocking helicopter crash,” President said.

Concerning the impact of the tragedy to global economy, President hoped that the death of President Raisi would not affect global oil price which could also give impact to other commodity prices.

“If the oil price is affected by this tragedy, other commodity prices will also be affected. We hope there will not be any impact,” the President explained.

For our remembrance, President Raisi visited Indonesia last year on 23 May 2023. During the meeting with President Jokowi in Bogor Presidential Palace, they discussed the global geo-politics situation and agreed on some bilateral cooperations. (AIT) (GA/LW)
