President Jokowi Disburses Cash Assistance for Micro, Small Enterprises in Aceh Province
Given the hard times that micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs are experiencing recently, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Tuesday (25/8) disbursed Productive Presidential Assistance for Micro Enterprises in Aceh Province.
“We are indeed still in a difficult position due to COVID-19 pandemic. We hope the situation may return to normal when all Indonesians receive vaccine. We are planning to produce the vaccine in December or January, thus the vaccination can start in January,” the President said.
For that reason, the President said he had told entrepreneurs to maintain their hard work and spirit so that their economies remain stable though there is a drop in revenue. He also told them to make the best use of the assistance cash.
“Today, more than 200 micro and small entrepreneurs received the assistance. The assistance will be disbursed to 12 million micro and small entrepreneurs from all over Indonesia by September. The number of beneficiaries increases each day, In Shaa Allah, God willing, by the end of September we can meet the target of 12 million,” the President said.
On that occasion, President Jokowi expressed his hope that the assistance can boost revenue of the entrepreneurs, gradually until it reaches the figure in normal condition.
The Head of State went on to say that Aceh Province fares better than provinces on Java Island do with regard to the pandemic situation.
“I told the Governor to tighten control so that COVID-19 will no longer exist in Aceh Province and in Indonesia,” he said, while reminding the public to always wear a face mask, to maintain safe distance, to avoid crowd, and to wash hands to prevent COVID-19 transmission.
