President Jokowi Distributes 1,037 KIP to Orphan Students

In the series of his visit to Special Region of Yogyakarta, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo distributed 1,037 Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) to orphan students from Sleman and Kulonprogro, at SMK Negeri 2 Pengasih, Kulonprogro Regency, Friday (27/1) afternoon.

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, in her report, said that the students can receive Rp450,000 for elementary students, Rp750,000 for junior high school students, and Rp1,000,000 for high/vocational school students.

The President said that the money given in KIP is more than enough. “Use it to by school supplies, uniforms, or shoes, but don’t use it to buy phone credit.”

The President also reminded that the card will be taken if it is used for other purposes. “Promise me, you won’t do that,” the President firmly said.

The President also told the students to study well so that they will be able to compete in a tighter competition.

“Please remember, the competition in the future will be more difficult and tighter. So, you must study hard,” the President said.

The President also reminded to use the KIP wisely. It must be use to support the students’ education so they will be smart,” the President said.
