As part of his working visit in North Sumatra province, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo on Friday (15/3) distributed 2,000 Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) to elementary, junior high, and senior high school students at Balige Senior Vocational School 1, Toba Samosir regency.

President Jokowi in his remarks said that the funds may only be used for matters related to education. “Don’t use the money for any other purposes,” he added.

The President also invited the KIP’s recipients to make a collective agreement to only spend the funds in educational matters; otherwise, the Government will take back the card. “We must exercise discipline with the money,” President Jokowi said.

The President also urged the students to study and exercise well, and to pray to God. (FID/AGG/ES)
