The Government has targeted that by 2019, all lands in Bali will have certificates. Bali is the fastest region that will finish the distribution of certificates since other regions need time until 2025. This year, the Government has set a target to distribute 200,000 certificates for land owners in Bali.

“In Indonesia, there are 126 million plots of land that must be certified. Currently the Government has distributed certificates to 46 million plots of land,” the President said when handing over 5,903 certificates for Bali Province, at Bajra Sandi Renon Field, South Denpasar, Denpasar, Bali, Friday (4/8) afternoon.

The President believes that these land certificates will avoid disputes on land ownership. At the moment, there are thousands of land disputes that must be resolved. Thus, the President told the owners of land certificates to keep their certificates well.

“Please, keep them well. Cover it with a plastic cover so it won’t damage. Moreover, make a copy of the certificate; if it’s lost, it will be easier for you to requst a replacement certificate at National Land Agency (BPN),” the President said.

The President also reminded all to carefully use the certificate when it is used as a collateral for a bank loan. “Calculate first the interest as well as the principal debt installments. If you are not sure you can pay the installment, don’t borrow money from  a bank. Be careful, do not let your certificate seized by the bank,” the President further said.

In 2017, the Government has targeted to hand over five million land certificates. Next year, it will be seven million and the year after, it will be nine million. “I believe Pak Sofyan has worked hard to distribute the certificates as soon as possible,” the President said while pointing at  Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/ Head of National Land Agency Sofyan Djalil.

Also attending the event were Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/ Head of National Land Agency Sofyan Djalil, and Governor of Bali I Made Mangku Pastika.(FID/OJI/ES)(MMB/YM/Naster)
