President Jokowi Distributes Assistance to Cianjur Eathquake-affected Residents

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (12/08) revisited Cianjur earthquake-affected locations in West Java province on his working visit.

Using a series of land vehicles, the President departed from the Bogor Presidential Palace at around 07.30 Western Indonesian Time.

The President started his visit by inspecting the State Intelligence Agency (BIN)’s Cianjur command post in Cijedil village, Cugenang district.

Arriving at 8.50 Western Indonesian Time, the President was greeted by children who sang a famous folk song from West Java titled Manuk Dadali. These dozens of children have participated in trauma healing program at the command post. The President then distributed food assistance as well as other assistance to the affected residents.

At 9.20, the President is slated to continue his visit to the 300th Raider Infantry Battalion Shooting Range in Karangtengah district.

At the location, the President is also scheduled to hand over housing assistance to the affected residents.

In addition, the President will inspect Sukamaju 1 Elementary School in Benjot village, Cugenang district before returning to Jakarta. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (FI/MUR)
