The Government provides working capital assistance for micro and small-sized enterprises in order to help vendors to run their businesses during COVID-19 pandemic.

“You used to get Rp500,000 to Rp800,000 per day in normal circumstances, but now you can only bring home Rp200,000, don’t you? It’s only half or even one-third (of the previous revenue). Has the situation slowly getting better?” President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo asked at the distribution of working capital assistance to small businesses, at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java Province, Wednesday (15/7).

The President went on to say that 215 countries including Indonesia experience the same condition and difficulties.

“I want all of you to not lose hope, keep your spirits up and keep working hard so when the situation returns to normal everything will get better. I hope you never stop working hard. Can you do that?” he said.

According to the President, it will take a very long time to fully recover; therefore, everyone must work hard and maintain their businesses to run.

For the record, the event that distributes capital assistance amounting to Rp2.4 million to small businesses is organized by strictly following the health protocols. In that event, President Jokowi was accompanied by Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko.(FID/EN)
