Having inaugurated the Aruk Integrated Cross-Border Post (PLBN), President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo, accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi, distributed Smart Indonesia Card (KIP), Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS), Supplemental Nutrition Program (PMT), and Aspiring Family Program (PKH), in Sajingan Besar Subdistrict, Sambas, West Kalimantan, Friday (17/3) afternoon.

In his speech, President Jokowi reminded all that the money should be used for school purposes, such as buying books, shoes, bags, and school uniforms. “The money is not for buying credit. If caught, the card will be immediately revoked,” the President said while adding that the KIP is only used for things related to education and school affairs.

When it comes to the PMT to 475 people including pregnant women, toddlers, and school children, the President said that the distribution of PMT has the goal for supplemental nutrition of children. “The composition of nutrition is high. Therefore, there is a rule; eat six pieces per day. It contains nutrition so children will be smart,” the President said.

For children aged 6 months to one year old, according to the President, they have eight pieces per day, and 12 pieces per day for age one to five years old. However, for pregnant women, the President went on to explain, they consume not only biscuits, but also proteins from foods like tofu, tempeh (a fermented soybean cake), meat, or eggs that are important for children. “These are for the supplements,” the President said.

For one to three-month pregnant women, the President continued, just two pieces of biscuits per day, while three pieces per day for four to nine-month pregnant women. “They must have been weighed at Posyandu (a center for integrated health services), Puskesmas (a community health center). If found normal, well, this should not be continued on because of the high nutritional composition,” the President said.

When it comes to the PKH, President Jokowi said that the money should be used for families as for supplemental nutrition and school children. “Do not use the money for buying cigarettes. If caught, it will be revoked. You can take it per three months at Bank BRI,” the President said.

The President hopes that the children use the money properly so that Indonesia has smart human resources and we can compete with other countries.

Also present on the occasion were Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, and the Indonesian National Defence Forces (TNI) Commander Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo. (GUN/UN/ES) (MUR/YM/Naster).
