President Jokowi Distributes Social Assistance at Traditional Markets in Surakarta
Following the assistance distribution at Balekambang Park, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (05/26) also stopped by at a number of traditional markets on his working visit to Surakarta city, Central Java province.
“(I am here to distribute) assistance for traders, MSMEs retailers, street vendors in Mojosongo Market, Gede Market, Gading Market, and Harjodaksino Market, and also for traditional artists. There is also additional capital assistance to boost economic recovery,” President Jokowi said at Mojosongo Market.
At Pasar Gede, Rubina—a merchant of lenjongan (traditional sweets from Surakarta)—expressed her gratitude for the assistance. “I will use the assistance to increase merchandise, to pay rent, and to cover the daily expenses of the family. Thank you very much,” Rubina said.
In addition, Hermawan, a pedicab driver in Pasar Gede, and his colleagues also received the assistance from the Head of State.
Echoing a similar sentiment, Aminah—a merchant at Harjodaksino Market—expressed her gratitude for the President’s assistance and promised to use it to multiply her business capital.
“I thank you for your attention to the people,” Aminah added. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (GWH/HD)
