President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo issued Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia (Keppres) Number 10 of 2024 on the Voting Day for the 2024 General Election as a National Holiday.

“Hereby to establish Wednesday dated February 14, 2024 as a national holiday for the 2024 General Election,” reads the provision contained in the Presidential Decree which can be accessed at the Cabinet Secretariat’s Legal Documents and Information Network (JDIH Setkab).

The national holiday for the 2024 Election was established to provide the widest possible opportunity for Indonesian citizens to exercise their right to vote in the 2024 General Election.

“This Presidential Decree shall come into force on the date of its establishment,” states Presidential Decree Number 10 of 2024 which was established on February 6, 2024.

The establishment of February 14, 2024 as the day for voting and vote counting for the 2024 Election at polling stations is based on Regulation of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Number 3 of 2022 on Stages and Schedules for the 2024 General Election. (UN) (TM/MUR)
