President Jokowi Explains Development in Nusantara New Capital

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said that the Government had started infrastructure development in the central area of ​​the Nusantara New Capital (IKN).

“For the IKN, we have started (construction) for the infrastructure, including the dam for the supply of raw water which will be completed in January. Infrastructure for the central areas has already started,” said the President to the reporters at the Radakng Traditional House, Pontianak city, West Kalimantan province, Tuesday (11/29).

He expressed his gratitude for the support from the people of Kalimantan, especially the Dayak tribe, for the construction of the IKN, adding that that the Government will also build Dayak Centers around the IKN area based on request of the Dayak people.

Furthermore, the President explained that the construction of government buildings such as ministries as well as the presidential and vice presidential palaces will begin.

“Things related to the construction of ministries buildings, the presidential and vice presidential palaces will also start this December,” said the President. (BPMI SETPRES/UN) (EST/LW)
