Indonesian President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo has extended his deepest condolences over the passing away of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand.

“On behalf of the Indonesian Government and the Indonesian people, I would like to extendmy deepest condolences on the passing away of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej,” President Jokowi said during a press conference at the Merdeka Palace on Thursday (13/10) night.

According to President Jokowi, the King’s modesty and concerns for his people should be emulated. “The world has lost a leader who was close to his people, a bearer of peace, unity, and prosperity for the people of Thailand,” the President added.
