President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo expressed his condolences on the passing of the Republic of Cuba’s former President Fidel Castro.

 

He extended his condolences after attending the commemoration of National Teachers Day and the 71st Anniversary of Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) at Sentul International Convention Center, Bogor, West Java (27/11).

“I extend my deepest condolences for the Government and the people of Cuba for the passing of Fidel Castro, former President of Cuba, on Saturday, November 26th,” said President Jokowi.

Fidel Castro, who in 2008 retired from politics, passed away at the age of 90. Previously, Castro has handed over his authority to his younger brother, Raul Castro in 2006. (GUN/UN)
