President Jokowi extends his appreciation to the Vice President and all Working Cabinet Ministers for their hard work in the 2014-2019 period.

“I also (thank) Coordinating Ministers, Ministers, Heads of Agencies, Head of the National Intelligence Agency (BIN), Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), Chief of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), and Attorney General who have worked together with us, I feel regretful that for the past five years maybe only now we can meet (in this kind of meeting). Usually, we meet during limited meetings, plenary meetings,” President Jokowi stated at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday (18/10).

The President also expressed his apology since he often made phone calls to his ministers at midnight. He also said that he had directly asked for information and data from a President Director of State-Owned Enterprise (SoEs) without notifying the Minister of SoEs, or the Director-General without notifying the Minister. “Because of the urgency of the information and data, (even if) in the evening or at the break of dawn, indeed we are given the responsibility to manage 267 million people in the country,” the President explained.

On the occasion, the President also conveyed his sincere apology to the Ministers for the possible shortcomings during their daily interactions in the past five years. (MAY/JAY/ES)
