President Jokowi, First Lady Inspect 12th Raimuna
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Iriana Jokowi inspected the 12th Pramuka National Meeting (Raimuna) of the Indonesian Scout Movement of 2023 that was held at the Cibubur Camping ground, Jakarta, Tuesday (08/15). Dressed in full Scout uniform, the President and the First Lady arrived at the location at around 07.26 Western Indonesian Time.
The arrival of the President Jokowi and Ibu Iriana Jokowi was welcomed by Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo and Chairman of the Indonesian Scout Movement Budi Waseso. Afterward, President Jokowi, who also serves as Chairman of the National Advisory Council (Mabinas), inspected the main site of the Raimuna.
The President and the First Lady also visited the food resilience area that consists of plantation and farming areas. They had a dialogue with several scouts regarding nurturing of plants and reusing of used products.
Raimuna is a gathering event for rover/ranger scouts (penegak) and senior rover/ranger scouts (pandega) aged 16-25 from all over Indonesia. This quinquennial event aims at strengthening brotherhood between ethnic groups and culture, increasing the spirt of nationalism, introducing Indonesia’s diversity and strengthening the sense of belonging between fellow scouts.
Adopting the theme “Our Generation, Let’s Rise Up” (Bangkit Generasi Kita), the meeting was attended by around 17 thousand participants. The event was officially opened by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin on Monday (08/14) and will last for eight days until August 21, 2023.
