President Jokowi, First Lady Iriana Host ASEAN Summit Gala Dinner

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and the First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo hosted the 43rd ASEAN Summit Gala Dinner for the leaders of ASEAN countries at Hutan Kota in Gelora Bung Karno sports complex, Wednesday (09/06).
President Jokowi and the First Lady, wearing traditional Betawi attire, welcomed the leaders of ASEAN countries, leaders of partner countries, and leaders of international institutions. The attendees were wearing Indonesian batik attire.
Starting the gala dinner, President Jokowi invited all guests to take a short break from the series of meetings at the 43rd ASEAN Summit and enjoy the evening in Jakarta.
“Welcome to the 43rd ASEAN Summit Gala Dinner. I know it has been a long day. We have held six Summits today. Now, let’s enjoy this evening and celebrate our togetherness,” the President said, adding that Indonesia had prepared a performance presented by the young generation of the nation.
While enjoying dinner, the invited guests were entertained with various artistic performances, including the traditional musical instrument from East Nusa Tenggara sasando, dance performances from ASEAN member countries, and a number of singing performances from Indonesian musicians.
