President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi Thursday (01/13) continued a working visit in Mandalika by inspecting the readiness of supporting facilities and related organizations involved in the 2022 MotoGP racing events at the Mandalika International Street Circuit, Central Lombok sub-district, West Nusa Tenggara province.

“I have inspected the circuit, especially the organization’s readiness to host the MotoGP event in March,” the President said in a press statement after the inspection.

The President also conveyed that transportation and accommodation services, logistics for racing purposes, as well as health protocols for MotoGP racers, officials, and spectators have also been well prepared.

“The problems we face, like the readiness of accommodation, transportation, hotel rooms, and flight services, we have checked them all. InsyaAllah, everything is ready,” the President said.

In addition, he added, there is also the arrangement of landscape around the area that supports the new face of Mandalika.

“The area has been decorated with flowers. We have also re-greened certain points so that guests who come from the airport heading to Mandalika will see beautiful surroundings,” he said.

For the record, the Mandalika International Street Circuit has a total spectator capacity of 63,534 people per day, consisting of Premiere Class, Deluxe Class, Premium Grandstand, Standard Grandstand, and General Admission categories. The construction of facilities is targeted to be completed by mid-March 2022. (FID/UN) (RIF/LW)
