President Jokowi, First Lady Wish Indonesian Muslims Happy Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Iriana Jokowi wished Indonesian Muslims a happy Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri.

The President and the First Lady also asked for forgiveness to welcome the holy day.

“In all humility, my family and I wish you a happy Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri. Let us forgive each other,” President Jokowi said in a video streamed on the YouTube channel of Cabinet Secretariat, Sunday (05/01).

“I also wish you a happy Eid al-Fitr. Let us forgive each other,” the First Lady said.

The President also expressed gratitude that this Eid, the people are allowed to go mudik (annual exodus ahead of Eid al-Fitr), so they can gather with their families in their hometown.

“Thank God, on this year’s Eid, we can gather with families, meet parents and relatives in our hometown,” he remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (DH/MUR)
