President Joko Widodo delivers an introductory remarks at the limited cabinet meeting on the new fuel price at the Presidential Office, Jakarta (30/3)

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo reminded that fuel price that the Government will announce must be followed by the cut of transportation costs.

“Based on the calculation, I hope fuel price can be cut. I also ask Minister of Transportation to regulate the process of cutting transportation costs,” President Jokowi said in his introductory remarks at the limited cabinet meeting on the new fuel price in April 2016 and the conversion of solar subsidy in the 2016 State Budget at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday (30/3).

According to the President, fuel price hike is often followed by transportation cost hike.

“When fuel price increases, transportation cost rise accordingly. When fuel price is cut, transportation costs must also be cut accordingly,” the President said.

The limited cabinet meeting was also attended by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli, Minister of Finance Bambang Brodjonegoro, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said, Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Trade Ignasius Jonan, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and President Director of state-owned gas and oil company PT.
