President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo praised the Fact Finding Team (TPF) that has published its findings on the case of Novel Baswedan, an investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The President added that the TPF results must be followed up by the Technical Team.

“The technical team has three months (to solve the case),” President Jokowi said after meeting with Indonesian Scout Movement Contingent at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday (19/7).

The President went on to say that resolving the case is not easy and expressed hope that the team will follow up the TPF findings.

For the record, during a press conference at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Wednesday (17/7), the TPF said that it has gathered several facts regarding the acid attack against Novel Baswedan.

Based on the attack patterns and testimony of the victim, the TPF believes that the attack was not related to personal problems, but was related to the victims’ job,” a spokesman for the Fact Finding Team Nur Kholis said.

The TPF recommended the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to form a team to find three unknown people who allegedly came to Novel’s house and mosque near Novel’s house before the attack. (FID/RAH/ES)
