President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo exercised together with Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Andika Perkasa, Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo, and Navy Chief of Staff (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono in the area of the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java Province, Sunday (14/6).

“This morning, I invited the KSAD, KSAU, and KSAL to go jogging because it is important for us to boost our body endurance in order to stay healthy,” the President said.

The President also stated that he instructed the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) to continually assist the public to obey the health protocols.

Imposing discipline on the protocols, President Jokowi said, is crucial so that they stay productive but safe from the COVID-19 spread.

“Carry on with the efforts to discipline the public to comply with the health protocols such as wearing masks, washing hands, keeping distance, and avoiding crowds. I think that is what we need to continuously impose to the public,” the President stated.

President Jokowi also expressed his gratitude to the TNI for its role in making sure that the public follow the health protocols as well as for its assistance during evacuations of Indonesian people abroad at the beginning of the pandemic. “In January and February, the TNI assisted evacuations of our people in Wuhan, Japan, and crew ship members,” he said.
