President Jokowi Greets People of Surakarta on New Year’s Eve

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, Sunday (12/31), walked down the street around Pon Market in his hometown of Surakarta city, Central Java province.

The President greeted local vendors and visitors who went there to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

The President also stopped by several stalls, including Ngarsopuro Night Market MSME stall, and bought some corndogs and fish cakes at a snack stall as well as curcuma from a curcuma vendor.

President Jokowi returned to his residence after spending more time strolling down the road, whereas the people enjoyed the fireworks in the city’s night sky. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (DH/MUR)
