President Jokowi Hands Over 1,191 KIP

After distributing land certificates at Brigif 15 Kujang Field, Cimahi City, West Java Province, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo and his entourage continued their trip to Rajawali Field, Cimahi City, Monday (11/9) afternoon.

On this occasion, the President handed over 1,191 Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) to elementary school, junior high school, senior high school, and vocational school students in Cimahi. Each student, as quoted from the press release of Deputy of Protocol, Press, and Media, Secretariat of the President, Bey Machmudin, shall get different amount of aid fund in accordance with the students’ level of education. Elementary school students will get Rp450,000, junior high school students will get Rp750,000, and senior high/vocational school students will get Rp1,000,000.

This assistance, according to the President, is provided by the Government to give equal opportunity for all Indonesian children to get good quality education. “You must be grateful. Previously, the Government did not give this kind of assistance. Be grateful that the children have an opportunity to get education to the highest level.

Moreover, ahead of the future competition era, the President asked Indonesian children to be ready to compete in global world. Therefore, President Jokowi also asked the students to study well to prepare themselves to face the future competition.

On that event, the President also handed over the aid fund of Aspiring Family Program (PKH). One family can get Rp1,890,000 per year which distribution is divided into four stages. In this event, the President handed over the fund of PKH to 800 families. The President reminded to use the fund for the children’s education and health so they will be smart at school.

Also accompanying President Jokowi were Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/ Head of National Land Agency Sofyan Djalil, Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki, and Deputy Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar.
