President Jokowi Hands Over Food Assistance in Jambi Province

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (04/03) inspected rice stocks at state-owned logistics company Bulog’s Pematang Kandis Warehouse, Merangin regency, Jambi province.

On that occasion, the President also handed over food assistance (rice) to the beneficiaries.

“Have you received 10 kilograms of rice? I was informed that some of you have received food assistance three times, and some of you have only received it once,” the President said in his dialogue with the beneficiaries

The President said that the Government will continue the food assistance until next June, depending on the fiscal space of the State Budget (APBN).

One resident, Sarah, expressed hope that the food assistance would continue. According to her, the assistance helped her to make ends meet.

“Thank God, this food assistance is very important for me in the month of Ramadan, because now (the price of) rice is high. Thank God, and I am very grateful to Pak Jokowi,” Sarah said.

Another recipient, Sinur Murni, said that she was grateful with the food assistance, while expressing hope she could get other assistance. (BPMI SETPRES/AIT) (RI/MMB)
