President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Ibu Iriana Wednesday (06/29) headed to Poland after concluding a state visit to Ukraine.

The President and his entourage departed from Kyiv Central Station, at around 19.00 local time aboard the Ukraine Extraordinary Train.

Upon his arrival at Przemyśl Główny Station in Przemyśl city, Poland, the President is slated to head to Rzeszów–Jasionka Airport to continue his visit to Moscow, Russia.

President Jokowi, in a joint press statement with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier on Wednesday (06/29), said that his visit to Ukraine is a manifestation of Indonesia’s concern about the situation in Ukraine.

He also affirmed Indonesia’s view on the importance to respect principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity. A peaceful resolution is also crucial and the spirit of peace shall never perish, he added.

“In this regard, I volunteer to relay the message from President Zelenskyy to President Putin whom I’m about to visit,” he stated.

President Jokowi also raised his concern about the impact of war to humanity. He affirmed that the Government and people of Indonesia will provide some aids, including medicine and reconstruct a hospital in Kyiv. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (RAS/LW)
