President Jokowi Hosts ADB Delegates at Bogor Palace

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has expressed commitment to provide financial support for Indonesia’s energy transition projects and fourteen ongoing projects.

The statement was delivered by the ADB delegates that include President of the ADB Masatsugu Asakawa, Executive Director Representing Indonesia Arif Baharudin, and Country Director for Indonesia Jiro Tominaga during a meeting with President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo at Bogor Presidential Palace in West Java, Friday (02/18).

During the meeting, President Jokowi told ADB delegates about the handing of COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, adding that Indonesia has been administering COVID-19 vaccines to 330 million people.

According to the President, it is such remarkable performance given that Indonesia does not produce COVID-19 vaccine.

The Head of State went on to say that Indonesia’s economy in the fourth quarter of 2021 has surpassed five percent and the ADB also plauded Indonesia’s economy in 2021 that recorded a 3.7 percent growth.

President Jokowi also mentioned about downstream project that the Government is currently undertaking, while expressing belief that the downstream industry will generate value added in exports and improve Indonesia’s current account balance if the country no longer exports raw materials.
