President Jokowi Hosts Australian Governor General at Bogor Palace

President Jokowi receives Australian Governor General David Hurley, at Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java province, Friday (05/17). (PR of Cabinet Secretariat/Oji)

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Friday (05/17) at Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java province, welcomed Australian Governor General David Hurley in his official visit to Indonesia.

Governor General Hurley arrived at the Palace at 09.00 Western Indonesian Time and was welcomed by troops in traditional attire, mounted troops, and marching band of the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres).

The Governor General was welcomed by President Jokowi who waited at the palace courtyard.

Both leaders shook hands, followed the official welcome ceremony. The anthems of both countries were played and followed by 21 times of canon shot fires. Afterwards, they both inspected the troops.

President Jokowi and Governor General Hurley introduced their respective delegations. Afterwards, both leaders entered Teratai Room to have a photo session and guest book signing.

Afterwards, the two leaders had a veranda talk at the veranda of the palace, followed by a tree planting session at the back court of the palace. It was an ironwood tree that they planted.

After the session, both leaders headed to Bogor Botanical Garden with a buggy car driven by President Jokowi to take a tour. They eventually headed back to the palace’s veranda before entering the Oval Room to have a bilateral meeting between delegations of both countries. (KS/UN)(AW/EP)
