President Jokowi: Hubei Evacuation Team to Depart in Less Than 24 Hours

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, through his official Twitter account @Jokowi on 31 January, stated that Indonesia’s advance team has entered Hubei Province of the People’s Republic of China and made preparations to evacuate 243 Indonesian citizens in Wuhan and surrounding areas.

“God willing, the evacuation team will depart in less than 24 hours with a wide-body plane so that they can all return home,” President Jokowi said in his tweet.

In Indonesia, the President added, preparations needed to welcome them to the country also continued to be made in accordance with applicable health procedures and protocols.

President Jokowi also told reporters after the inauguration of Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) underpass in Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta Special Region Province, Friday (31/1), that all evacuation activities are coordinated by Minister of Foreign Affairs along with relevant ministers including Minister of Health, Minister of Transportation, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), Head of National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), and so on.
