President Jokowi in East Java for Working Visit

PesawatPresident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo, is visiting several regencies and municipalities in East Java and Central Java, Friday (1/2) and Saturday (2/2).

The President headed to Madiun from Halim Perdanakusuma Military Base, Jakarta on Friday (1/2) around 07.00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time and landed at Iswahyudi Air Force Base, Madiun around 08.10 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. The President was greeted by Governor of East Java Soekarwo and Regional Military Commander of Brawijaya Major General Arif Rahman.

President Jokowi and his entourage, accompanied by Governor Soekarwo, headed to Al Fatah Islamic Boarding School, Temboro, Magetan before meeting with participants of Fostering the Economy of the Prosperous Family (Mekaar) program in Magetan.

From Magetan, President Jokowi is scheduled to visit Rembang, Central Java via Magetan, Ngawi, Bojonegoro, Lamongan, and Tuban. The President will perform Friday prayers at Ngawi, before handing over waqf land certificates. Afterwards, he will stop by Tuban to perform the Asr prayer.

In Rembang, President Jokowi is scheduled to visit K.H. Maimun Zubair and inspect electricity program for lower income households. From Rembang, President Jokowi will go to Surabaya by road via Tuban, Lamongan and Bunder (Gresik).

Accompanying President Jokowi during the visit were Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (BPN) Sofyan Djalil. (*/ES)
