President Jokowi arrives at Steigenberger Hotel in Hamburg

Shortly after working visit to Turkey, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo on Thursday (6/7) arrived at Helmut-Schmidt International Airport in Hamburg, Germany, to attend the G-20 Summit.

President Jokowi was welcomed by Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Federal Republic Dr. H. Fauzi Bowo and Defense Attaché of Republic of Indonesia in Berlin Colonel Kav. Tomi Kaloko Utomo. President Jokowi was also welcomed by Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Consul General of the Republic Indonesia in Frankfurt Wahyu Hersetiati, and Deputy Head of Mission of Indonesian Embassy in Berlin Perry Pada.

In the meantime, Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi told reporters at the Merdeka Palace on Monday (3/7) that this year’s G-20 Summit would cover three major issues namely sustainability, resilience, which is how to anticipate risk potentials and uncertainty that still prevails in the world, and the third is responsibility, which is an effort to push for a joint action to promote development.

Retno added that during the Summit, there are 5 sessions and President Jokowi has also been requested to become the lead speaker for the issue of counterterrorism. She added that President Jokowi would also deliver his speech in the first session discussing economic and financial matters.

Joining the President to attend the Summit are Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, and Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Lembong. (EN/AS/ES) (EP/YM/Naster)
