President Jokowi in Maluku to Distribute Social Assistance

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo, Wednesday (03/14), oversaw the distribution of social assistance in the eastern Indonesian province of Maluku.

On that occasion, the President distributed fuel cash assistance, staple food packages, and cash transfer assistance to the beneficiaries of the Family Hope Program (PKH).

“Today we’re in Southeast Maluku regency to distribute fuel cash assistance for100 out of around 4,000 (beneficiaries),” the President said at Tual post office in the regency.

According to the President, the Government has been disbursing fuel cash assistance to nearly six million out of 20.6 million beneficiaries in 431 regencies/municipalities, adding that the process is still under way.

Besides fuel cash assistance, the Government will continue to disburse wage subsidy to the beneficiaries, he added.

“The wage subsidy has been disbursed to 4,122,000 out of 16 million people,” he remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RAS/EP)
